I wasn’t sure what to expect when going here. I have not had much luck on this trip so far with pizza, so I didn’t know if it would be good, if it would be bad, or if it would be that “happy pizza” i read about online. For me, hopefully not “happy pizza” as I abstain from that.
I went with my wife and found that Pizza World is quite busy, and as it turns out a regular pizza place. It is extremely popular with the local Phnom Penh residents and was filled with mostly younger people interspersed with some families. There were at least three to four groups waiting at all times when we were there.
We started with a salad. Although we ordered for one, it was so big that we could barely finish it between the two of us. Think of the large bowl they use for Pho and you get the idea.
Overall, the salad was good. For the most part, ingredients were spot on. The green bell pepper had a few dark spots inside, but it was edible. The dressing was tasty. It was a bit like Japanese Mayonnaise based dressing. The corn was actually a nice touch and went well with the other vegetables and the dressing.
